Who should attend? The training is valuable for diaconal nominees, men and women who desire a firmer grasp on a biblical perspective of mercy, current deacons who are seeking more effective methods of serving others, and those who are concerned about compassion fatigue.

What will be taught? We are using Tim Keller’s 12-session video and workbook. The video instruction alone represents five hours of his teaching. In addition, we will address frustrations, barriers, and problems people face in diaconal and mercy ministry.

How will my church benefit? Past participants have brought a new energy and spirit of encourage back to their churches. By being with servants from other churches they sense that they are not alone in their ministry. They learn to trust God more and seek to please him, not other people.

What is the cost? Registration for the six week course is $90 per person. But, churches can send an alternate—at no additional cost—if the registrant is unable to attend any session. Day registration is $20 per session for others. Make checks out to The Clergy Committee and mail to 1701 Delancey St., Philadelphia, PA 19103.
